About Zimbabwe Weather

Zimbabwe enjoys a subtropical climate moderated by its altitude on the central African plateau. Most of the country lies at elevations between 900m and 1,500m above sea level, giving it a pleasant climate despite its tropical latitude.

The Eastern Highlands, including Nyanga and Chimanimani, receive the highest rainfall and have the coolest temperatures, making them popular retreats during the hot months. The lowveld areas in the south and along the Zambezi Valley can be extremely hot, especially in October.

Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, has its own microclimate influenced by the constant spray from the falls. The mist can be seen from kilometers away during high water and creates a unique environment for rainforest vegetation.

Zimbabwe's wildlife parks, including Hwange, Mana Pools, and Gonarezhou, each have distinct weather patterns that affect game viewing opportunities. Understanding seasonal weather is essential for planning safari trips and outdoor adventures.

Our comprehensive weather coverage includes over 90 locations across all ten provinces, from major cities like Harare and Bulawayo to remote safari destinations and mountain resorts.
